Diane Goss Queen, age 69, of Copperhill, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Mrs. Queen was born July 22, 1951, in McCaysville, to the late Luther Goss and the late Vernia Millsaps Goss. Diane was a 1969 West Fannin High School graduate, a member of Lebanon Baptist Church, and she and her family have owned and operated Abernathy’s Furniture Store since 1984.
She enjoyed life to the fullest by spending time with her family, traveling anywhere she could go, cooking and sharing desserts, crocheting, playing cards and a good game of Bingo. Diane was preceded in death by both of her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Queen; daughter, Melody Davenport; sons, Jason (Clarissa) Queen and Dustin (Jessica) Queen; brothers, Gary (Novella) Goss, Larry Goss, Michael Goss, and Terry Goss; sister, Debbie (Schronce) Quinn; grandchildren, Judah Queen, Daniel (Kelsey) Davenport, KateLynn Davenport, Joshua Oliver, Rebecca (Ky) Galloway, Lily Oliver, Gracie Oliver, Liza Oliver and Rachael Oliver; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 11 a.m., at the Lebanon Baptist Church with Pastor Charlie Wellham officiating.
Interment followed in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Derick Walden, Jason Arp, Brady Stanley, Daniel Kinser, Derek Stewart and Tommy Ledford. Honorary pallbearers were West Fannin Class of 1969.
The family received friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Monday, March 22, 2021, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
