Delma Parris Galloway, age 102, of Blue Ridge, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at her home.
Mrs. Galloway was born August 30, 1918, in Morganton, to the late Nathan Parris and the late Mexico Turner Parris. She was a Harvest Baptist Church member in Smyrna, Georgia, and she enjoyed spending time doing needlepoint, embroidery, crochet, quilt tops, drawing and baking. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Mexico Parris; her husband of 58 years, Rev. Doyle Galloway; daughter, Martha G. Shepherd; sisters, Thelma Quintrel, Willie Johnson and Helen Davis; brothers, Stanton Parris, Bunyon Parris, Edwin Earl Parris, Ted Parris and Olan Parris.
Survivors include daughter, Cathie G. Parker; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Pattie Galloway; grandchildren, Jill Stamper, Michael Shepherd, Mark and Della Shepherd, Amy Tardo and Nancy Tardo; great-grandchildren, Alex, Brooke, Amanda, Sarah, Mark, Jr. and Abbygail; great-great-grandchildren, Sarah Holder, Jerico, Hera and Nova Shepherd.
Funeral services were Friday, April 2, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Parris officiating.
Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Stamper, Johnny Payne, Tommy Parris, Alex Shepherd, Nathan Parris and Robert Turner.
The family received friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Friday, April 2, 2021, 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
