Clark Norman Nelson Sr., age 84, of Blue Ridge, and formerly of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away surrounded by his family November 20, 2021.

Clark was born to Rex and Cleo Nelson in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1937. He was raised in Saint George, Utah, and graduated from Dixie High School in the class of 1955. After graduating, Clark went on to serve his country by joining the Air Force, where he was stationed in the Far East. He was honorably discharged in 1960. During a visit to Panama City Beach, Florida, he met the love of his life, Peggy. They were married in 1959 until her death in 2005.

Clark and Peggy raised their children in Lithia Springs, Georgia, but were also residents of Powder Springs for over 30 years. Clark was a beloved father, husband, son, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Clark was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Nelson (née Wyatt); daughter, Teri Ann Nelson; and brother, Larry Ray Nelson.

He is survived by his son, Clark “Chip” Nelson Jr. (wife, Stacie), of Mineral Bluff; sister, Beverly Olson (husband, Richard), of Riverton, Utah; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Peyton, Brent (wife, Myra) and Brandon; great-granddaughter, Ava; and many beloved extended family members.

A private service will be held at Davis-Struempf Chapel officiated by Dr. Farren Roper.

Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.
