Mr. Charles Jack Patterson, age 74, of Mineral Bluff, passed away December 27, 2021, in the Life Care Center of Copper Basin.

He was born in McCaysville, September 28, 1947, to the late Lloyd and Madeline Davis Patterson. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam era. Charles was a truck driver for many years with his last employment being with Mac Steel in Alpharetta, Georgia. He was also a long time member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church but most recently attended McCaysville Church of God. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Patterson; and son, Timothy Patterson.

Survivors include his wife, Odetta Patterson, of the home; children and their spouses, Sharon and Mark Crenshaw, of Loganville, Georgia, Amanda and Marshall Collins, of Mineral Bluff, Holly and Darrell Rennels, of Charleston, Illinois, and Jeremy and Stephanie Greer, of Tyson, Virginia; grandchildren, Dalton Patterson, of Blairsville, Georgia, and Jessica Patterson, of Blue Ridge; a host of other grandchildren and great grand-children; brother, Gerald (Rachel) Patterson, of Ellijay, Georgia; sister and her spouse, Linda Patterson Hancock and Buddy Whitaker, of Harrison, Tennessee; aunt, Jeanette Dockery, of McCayville; and three nephews and one niece.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, December 31, 2021, at 2 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Lamb officiating.

Music was provided by Dewayne Housley, Beverly Whitmir and Roy Tipton. Serving as pallbearers were Steve Patterson, Jeff Hastings, Gavin Collins, Mark Crenshaw, Larry Joe Mull and Arvil Mealer. The following gentlemen were selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Larry Sparks, Dalton Patterson, Carlos Wilson, Bill Bandy, James Harold Griggs and Max Housley. Military honors were provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery.
