Mrs. Judith Carol Beach, age 82, of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021.
She was born September 20, 1939, in Topeka, Kansas, to the late Richard Donham and Edith Kessler Donham. Carol was a member of Mine City Baptist Church. She retired from Kennestone Hospital where she worked as an Admission’s Clerk for many years. One of Carol’s great loves was dance. She was a member of a dance company during all of her years at Kansas State University, serving as president her senior year.
A high point of that time was studying under none other than Martha Graham at Connecticut College School of Dance, while there on scholarship. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Jane Baird and Maxine McLaughlin; and son-in-law, Phil Sheffer.
Carol is survived by her children, Jodie Sheffer and Kenny (Marilyn) Beach; brother, Kenneth Donham; and grandchildren, Reece Sheffer, Haley Vaughn and Sydney Beach.
Memorial services were conducted Thursday, September 30, 2021, from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Smith and Rev. Charles Hodges officiating. Music was provided by Lena Hill and Marilyn Beach. The family visited with friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour of 11 am.
