Bobby Ray Keene Sr., age 68, of Turtletown, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021, at his home.
Bobby was born December 2, 1952, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to the late Truman Keene and Beulah Payne Keene. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Bobby also worked as a coal miner and was a member of Community Baptist Church in Turtletown. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Faye (Pete) Holliman, Larry Keene and Danny (Doris June) Keene; and sister-in-law, Brenda Keene.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Mildred Keene of the home; daughters, Tiffany (Jamie) Mathis of Turtletown, and Juanita (Derrick) Woody of McCaysville; sons, Benny Ray Keene of Athens, Tennessee, and Bobby Ray (Chasity) Keene Jr. of Isabella, Tennessee; brothers, Butch Keene of Illinois, Michael Keene of Michigan and Eddie Keene of Virginia; sisters, Doris Ann (James) Keene of Virginia, and Eloise (Butch) Keene of Florida; and grandchildren, Clayton Mathis, Taylor Mathis, Jackson Mathis, Gracelynn Mathis, Phoenix Woody, River Woody and Noah Keene.
Memorial services were conducted Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 2 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Allen officiating. Military honors were provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill was in charge of the arrangements.
