Power went out for 807 Tri-State EMC customers, some affected for over four hours, and traffic near Pizza Hut in Blue Ridge was tied up just as long Friday morning, August 7, after a dump truck snagged a power wire and overturned.

Enumerators with the 2020 United States Census began surveying door-to-door Saturday, August 8. They will continue to do so as they travel to residences that have not yet responded to the census online, by phone or by mail.

Stevens free after $100,000 bond reduced

Lindsay A. Stevens was released from the Fannin County jail last week, but not until Chief Magistrate Judge Brian Jones accepted an agreement by attorneys to reduce her $100,000 bond. Jones had set that bond during Jones’ initial appearance hearing July 24.
