Track and field stars shine for Fannin County

    Many of the Fannin County High School (FCHS) track and field athletes competed in the Spring Break Showdown Invitational at Marietta High School Saturday, April 1. Head Coach Miranda Roof said, “They all performed amazingly and represented FCHS track and field with excellence.”

    Matthew Crowder made the podium and received a medal by placing third in shot put with a throw of 51 feet. He also placed ninth in discus.

    Grayson Willis placed fifth in 110 meter hurdles.

    Zechariah Prater placed 15th in the 3200 meter finishing with a time of 10:00.06.

    Tyler Stevenson placed 12th in pole vault.

    Lindsey Holloway placed sixth in the 3200 meter run.

    Karli Sams placed 22nd in the 800 meter run.

    Roof added that “There were 54 total teams and hundreds of athletes at this meet. The majority of athletes were from AAAA-AAAAAAA schools. These athletes should be extremely proud of how they performed!”
