Soccer season ends in playoffs

    The Lady Rebels soccer team wrapped up their 2023 season with a 0-10 loss to Fellowship Christian School Thursday, April 13, in the first round of the Georgia High School Association State playoffs.

    The Lady Rebels finished with a record of 5-10-2 overall and 5-7 in Region 7 AA as the fourth place seed.

    Head Coach Nancy Jessen said, “I’m extremely proud of the team this season.

    “This was a rebuilding year and despite our team being very young, our seniors showed great leadership rising above the challenges to lead the team to a playoff run.

    “This group of girls worked very hard from day one and showed such growth and potential throughout the season and up until the very end.

    “While we will miss the gifts and talents of our graduating seniors, I am extremely excited and look forward to seeing what this group of girls will do in the upcoming season,” Jensen concluded.
