Rockmart takes double header from Fannin

The Rebels’ baseball team faced Rockmart in a double header Friday, March 31, but went home with two losses, 4-7 and 1-13.

During the first game, Bryson Holloway, Carson Callihan, Conner Martin, Gavin Davis, Clay Heaton and Paul Stroemer all racked up hits for a Fannin total of nine.

Holloway, Callihan, Heaton and another Rebel converted their hits into runs to make the Rebels’ total four.

Gaige Foster ran the mound all seven innings. He faced 34 batters only allowing nine hits.

Despite their hard fought efforts, the Rebels took the loss 4-7.

They found the same fate during the second game, even with an early lead.

The Rebels earned the first run of the game during the first inning. Holloway singled, then with Foster and Martin’s hits, he scored.

The team made four hits between Holloway, Foster, Martin and Hayden Danner.

Colton Gray and Bristol Hughes split time on the mound. Between both pitchers, eight hits were allowed, but Rockmart capitalized in the fourth inning making eight runs four hits and five runs in the sixth inning for a total of 13 runs.
