Payton Roath signed his letter of intent to play soccer and further his education at Life University Tuesday, March 22.
Roath was joined by his mother, Tiffany Roath, and his sister, Cassi Roath, at the signing ceremony.
His mother said, “I am so immensely proud of the young man Payton has become for many reasons, and I’m excited for him to take this next step. I’m also grateful for the support he has always received from this community and the many educators, coaches and parents who have cheered him on over the years.”
Roath has been a part of the Fannin County High School soccer team all four years of his high school career.
Head Coach Lee Johnson said, “Payton is a special kid and a special player. I can’t wait to see what he achieves.”
He plans to attend and play soccer at Life University for two years, then transfer to the University of Georgia to pursue a degree in psychology.
