The Fannin County High School baseball program wrapped up their 2023 season with their banquet Monday, May 15, with a multitude of awards given to many student athletes.
The Junior Varsity awards went to the following: Connor Bramlett, Caden Cox, Eli Queen, Drew Barfield, Karson Brown, Hudson York, CJ Reece, Noah Burnette, Reese Sisson, Brody Henson, Heath Bradburn, Lawson Sullivan, Kaden Davis, Reid Norton, Elijah Weaver, Mason McDaniel, Tucker Dockery, Paul Stroemer Jr., Christian Beavers and Carter Fox.
The Varsity letters were awarded to the following: Lawson Sullivan, Carson Callihan, Elijah Weaver, Colton Gray, Tucker Dockery, Bristol Hughes, Mason McDaniel, Paul Stroemer Jr., Gavin Davis, Cole Stevenson, Christian Beavers, Connor Johnson, Bryce Burnette, Carter Fox, Gaige Foster, Bryson Holloway, Hayden Danner, Clay Heaton and Connor Martin.
The Academic awards for a GPA of 3.5 or greater went to Karson Brown, Caden Cox, Brody Henson, Reese Sisson, Gavin Davis, Lawson Sullivan, Elijah Weaver, Christian Beavers, Carter Fox, Hayden Danner and Bryson Holloway. The Academic plaques for a GPA of 4.0 went to Heath Bradburn, Noah Burnette, Eli Queen, CJ Reece, Hudson York, Carson Callihan, Bristol Hughes, Mason McDaniel, Paul Stroemer Jr., Connor Johnson and Connor Martin.
Many other awards were given. The Attitude Awards went to Tucker Dockery and Colton Gray. The Approach Awards went to Paul Stroemer Jr. and Gavin Davis. The Intensity Awards were awarded to Lawson Sullivan and Clay Heaton. The Toughness awards were given to Christian Beavers, Bryson Holloway and Connor Martin. The Foxhole awards were given to Mason McDaniel and Hayden Danner. The Future Diamond Rebel award went to Elijah Weaver. The Diamond Rebel awards was given to Carson Callihan and Gaige Foster.
Many of the baseball players were chosen for am All Region 7AA recognitions. Honorable Mention included Colton Gray, Bryce Burnette and Clay Heaton. Second Team All Region included Bristol Hughes, Connor Martin and Hayden Danner. First Team All Region included Carson Callihan, Gavin Davis, Gaige Foster and Bryson Holloway.
The Boat Crew Leader awards went to seniors Connor Martin, Hayden Danner, Clay Heaton and Bryson Holloway.
Head Coach Travis Stone wrapped up the banquet with a message to his seniors saying, “To our seniors, I know that you wanted this to end in a dog pile. I know that this game means the world to you. Never lose that fire and passion. As this chapter of your life is closing, a new one will begin. You are prepared to be excellent. You are prepared to tackle anything that life throws at you.”
He continued with, “Thank you for your blood, sweat, and tears. Thank you for your commitment to this Fannin County Baseball program. You left it better than you found it and we truly wish you nothing but the best in life! Once a Family, always a Family!”
