The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels earned two huge softball wins over Gordon Central High School in the doubleheader Thursday, September 14, with scores of 20-1 and 25-0.
During the first game, 11 runs in the first inning gave the Lady Rebels an early lead in their victory.
Sydney German drove in four runs on three hits to lead Fannin. German singled in the first inning scoring two, doubled in the second scoring two, and doubled in the first scoring one. Aaleyah Rogers singled, scoring one run, and drew a walk, scoring one run. Callie Ensley doubled, scoring one run.
Fannin’s Lady Rebels scored nine runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Makayla Stiles singled, scoring one run, Ensley drew a walk, scoring one run. German doubled, scoring two runs. Presley Daves tripled, scoring one run, Aidyn Patterson was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Stiles drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
Jayden Bailey set the pace from the circle for Fannin, giving up only one hit and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking one.
The Lady Rebels had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks in the game.
Rogers, Ensley, and Bailey led the team with two bases on balls each. Rogers, Stiles, Ensley, and Myla Rogers each stole multiple bases for Fannin. The Lady Rebels stole 15 bases in the game and didn’t commit a single error. German had the most chances in the field with six.
In total, nine Lady Rebels scored 20 runs and committed zero errors during the first game.
As for the second game, Fannin carried their momentum forward earning another big win, 25-0. Stiles drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Lady Rebels. She and Bailey both hit inside the park home runs.
The Lady Rebels jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Ensley doubled, scoring one run. German tripled, scoring one run, and scored after tagging up. Rachel Adams singled, scoring one run. Stiles tripled, scoring two runs, and an error allowed one run. A. Rogers singled, scoring one run. Ensley tripled, scoring one run, and a passed ball scored one run.
Fannin’s Lady Rebels added seven more runs in the top of the second inning on six hits. Presley Daves singled, scoring one run. Stiles hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs. Bailey hit a solo inside the park home run. German tripled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
The Lady Rebels scored eight runs on seven hits in the top of the third inning. Ciara Harper drew a walk, scoring one run. Bailey doubled, scoring one run, A. Rogers doubled, scoring two runs. German singled, scoring one run. M. Rogers hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs, and then Harper singled, scoring one run.
Bailey stepped in the circle first for the Lady Rebels giving up zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking one.
Fannin collected 21 hits in the game. German, A.Rogers, and Ensley each collected three hits Daves, M. Rogers, and Bailey each collected multiple hits as well. A. Rogers and Patterson each stole multiple bases for Fannin County.
