Lady Rebels easily advanced to Sweet 16

    The Fannin County Varsity Lady Rebels rolled past North Cobb Christian, 65-37, Tuesday, February 20, to advance to the Sweet Sixteen in the Georgia High School Association basketball state playoffs.

    The Lady Rebels started hot and had a strong first half, leading 33-19 at halftime

    Courtney Davis and Avi Ethington each hit multiple three-pointers for Fannin. The Lady Rebels controlled the paint, grabbing 27 rebounds. Reese Lewis led the team with seven rebounds. They passed the ball well with 14 assists on 20 made baskets.

    Davis led  the Lady Rebels’ scoring with 22 points. Ethington scored 11 points, Izzie Jabaley followed with 9, Lewis put in 7 points, Macy Hawkins added 6 points, Maggie Ledford scored 4 points, Jace Sanderson added 3 points, Emma Buchanan with 2 and Callie Ensley scoring one.

    The Lady Rebels earned the right to travel to Columbia High School in Decatur for the Sweet Sixteen match up Friday, February 23.
