The Fannin County Rebels lost to Union County, 71-63, Saturday, January 4, despite a double-double from Brody Henson, scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, and Keaton Watkins scoring 17 points.
Union County jumped out to a first quarter lead. Fannin closed the gap to 10-7, but at the 4:16 mark the Panthers led 15-9, a margin that held for most of the game.
In the loss, the Rebels rebounded the ball well, collecting 41 rebounds. Henson led the team with 11 rebounds. The team passed the ball well with nine assists on 26 made baskets and blocked three shots in the game. Watkins led the team with three blocks.
Rebel scorers included Watkins with 17 points, Hudson Ethington adding 14 points, Kolton Kaylor scoring 13 points, Henson with 10 points, Tyler Blake with five points and Jack Sparks adding four points.
The Fannin County Rebels traveled to Gordon Lee Tuesday, January 7, to continue region play.
