Fannin track & field takes first place

    Fannin’s track and field teams took first place in their meet at Coahulla Creek (CC) against CC, Gilmer, Ringgold and Ridgeland Tuesday, March 28.

    The girls’ team took home 10 first place finishes. Ava Acker placed first in the 400 meter dash. Karli Sams took first in the 800 meter run. Lindsey Holloway came in first in both the 1600 and 3200 meter races. Carlee Holloway placed first in the 300 meter hurdles. Reigan O’Neal jumped for first in the high jump and got first in the pole vault. Natalie Herendon threw for first in shot put. The relay team of Acker, Sams, L. Holloway and C. Holloway placed first in both the 4x400 meter and the 4x800 meter relays.

    The boys’ team took home many first place points as well. Braxton Cheatham ran for first in the 400 meter dash. Zechariah Prater took home three first place finishes in the 800 meter, 1600 meter and 3200 meter runs. Grayson Willis hurdled for first in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Tyler Stevenson took home first place in pole vaulting. Matthew Crowder threw for first in shot put. The relay team of Cheatham, Bill Stiles, Michael Stephens and Prater finished first in the 4x400 meter relay.
