The Fannin County High School (FCHS) Track and Field teams brought home many podium finishes at the Georgia High School Association 2A State Championship over the course of three days.
The FCHS boys team came in fourth place in the entire state out of over 40 teams at the State Championship meet. By coming in fourth, the boys team received a trophy and made the podium. The girls team placed tenth overall out of over 40 teams.
With a first place finish, Corbin Davenport secured the title of State Champion in pole vault. Fellow Rebel Tyler Stevenson finished right behind him as State Runner-Up in pole vault. Senior Grayson Willis clinched second place and a State Runner-Up title in the 110 meter hurdles. Matthew Crowder threw for fifth in shot put and sixth in discus. Zechariah Prater earned a fourth place finish in the 3200 meter run and a fifth place finish in the 1600 meter run.
Lindsey Holloway finished second and earned a State Runner-Up title in the 3200 meter run, and she also finished fourth in state in the 1600 meter run. The girls 4x800 meter relay team made up of L. Holloway, Ava Acker, Carlee Holloway, and Karli Sams finished in second place, earning a State Runner-Up title. Sams also ran for a sixth place finish in the 800 meter run.
