The Fannin County High School (FCHS) Cross Country team traveled to Meeks Park Friday, August 26 to compete.
The girl’s team placed third with Lindsey Holloway taking home a medal for second place.
Olivia Temples placed ninth, Jaclyn Cracknell placed 22nd, Shaylee Jones placed 25th and Jordon Golden placed 28th.
The sun was shining while the boy’s team took their marks on the starting line, but one mile into the race, the teams were taken off the course because lightening was in the area. The race was delayed multiple times until it was postponed until Tuesday, August 30.
It was another wet day with a number of delays, but eventually the teams began the race. The FCHS Rebels took second place, just missing first by two points as Fannin had 36 and Union had 34.
Zechariah Prater took home a second place medal while Gavin Davis followed behind with a third place medal.
Benjamin Bloch placed eight, Luke Callihan placed 11th, Connor Kyle placed 12th, James Kyle placed 17th, Sam Jabaley placed 18th and Brady Smith placed 36th.
The FCHS Cross Country team will compete next Saturday, September 10, at the Carrollton Orthopedic Invitational.
