Fannin cross country shines at Rockmart

The Fannin County High School cross country team competed at the Rockmart Invitational Tuesday, October 4, where both teams racked up the hardware.

The Rebels were on deck first. Gavin Davis would lead his team with a sixth place followed  by Benjamin Bloch in eighth place, and nipping closely at his heels was Luke Callihan in ninth place rounding out the medalist. Other members of the team were Conner Kyle in 18th place, James Kyle 19th, Sam Jabaley in 21st, and Brady Smith in 47th place. Despite their performance, the Rebels could only solidify a second place team victory.

The Lady Rebels had more success. Lindsey Holloway would take the lead for the race and finish in first place followed by Kristin Cipich in fourth, Olivia Temples in fifth and Karli Sams in 8th place taking the last medal for the Lady Rebels. The remaining athletes were Shaylee Jones who placed 26th, Jaclynn Cracknell who placed 30th and Jordon Golden was placed 40th. This allowed for the Lady Rebels to clinch a first place team victory.
