The Fannin County Lady Rebels softball team built a 6-run lead in the third inning and then held off Chattooga for an 8-6 victory Tuesday, October 1.
Presley Daves collected three hits in three at bats in the win. Daves doubled in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
In the bottom of the first inning, the Lady Rebels took the lead after Callie Ensley tripled, Natalie Herendon doubled, and Daves doubled, each scoring one run.
Fannin added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Ensley tripled, Herendon doubled, Daves doubled, and Sydney German singled, each scoring one run.
Herendon helped earn the win for the Lady Rebels. The pitcher surrendered seven hits and six runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking three.
The Lady Rebels piled up 11 hits in the game. Herendon, Daves, and Ensley each drove in two runs for varsity Lady Rebels.
