Two Fannin County High School baseball players signed Letters of Intent to play in college Tuesday, August 12.
Carson Callihan, the winner of the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame (FCSHOF) Male Athlete of the Year award, signed to play baseball for Young Harris College.
He also received All Region Player of the Year last season.
Paul Stroemer Jr. signed to play baseball at Truett McConnell University. Last season, Stroemer received All Region Recognition.
Both he and Callihan received All State recognition for their performance on the field.
Both players were part of last year’s baseball team, which ranked second in Georgia’s A D-1 Region 7.
“Carson and Paul have been the kind of players every coach hopes to have,” baseball Coach Travis Stone said. “ On the field, they’ve been leaders and competitors who have helped raise the standard of our program. In the classroom, they’ve shown the same work ethic and dedication, and in the community, they’ve represented Fannin County with class and pride.”
Callihan and Stroemer are the fourth and fifth 2025 Fannin players to sign on for playing college level baseball, Stone added.
“We’re proud of what they’ve accomplished here and excited to see them take their talents to the next level at Young Harris and Truett McConnell.”
