Investigation began with tip
A large scale investigation by several law enforcement agencies has resulted in multiple drug trafficking charges against two individuals.
An investigation began in mid-April when a concerned citizen reported two ladies selling drugs in Fannin, Union and Gilmer counties. Their arrests came in the early morning hours of Friday, June 20.
Those arrests resulted in the seizure of 81 grams of methamphetamine, seven grams of fentanyl, 3.5 grams of cocaine, and numerous drug related objects.
According to arrest warrants, Shannon Beverly Stallone, 33, of 216 Appalachian Trace, Morganton, is charged with five felonies; Crossing Guard Lines with Weapons/Drugs/Intoxicants;
Trafficking in Methamphetamine or Amphetamine; Trafficking in Morphine, Opium, Heroin or Fentanyl; Cocaine, Possession With Intent to Distribute; and Sale of a Controlled Substance; and, one misdemeanor, Possession of Drug Related Objects.
Warrants show Rebecca Lindsey Miggins, 40, of 216 Appalachian Trace, Morganton, is charged with three felonies; Trafficking in Methamphetamine or Amphetamine; Trafficking in Morphine, Opium, Heroin or Fentanyl; Cocaine, Possession With Intent to Distribute; and, one misdemeanor, Possession of Drug Related Objects.
Stallone and Miggins were passengers in a car driven by Linda Kay Coleman, 43, of 2049 Blue Ridge Drive, Blue Ridge, when it was stopped by a Fannin County deputy sheriff for an expired tag. That traffic stop occurred Friday morning, June 20, at approximately 1 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 515 and East First Street/Old Highway 76 in Blue Ridge.
A subsequent search turned up the illegal drugs.
Coleman was charged with a misdemeanor, Driving While License Suspended/Revoked.
All three were jailed and held without bond.
Warrants show that soon after the mid-April investigation began, an agent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) purchased a half gram of fentanyl from Stallone at a Forge Mill Road location.
An investigation by the ARDEO, sheriff’s offices of Fannin, Union and Gilmer counties, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Conasauga Safe Streets Task Force had been on going, culminating with the June 20 arrests.
