The annual Light Up Blue Ridge events will kick off November 29 with Blue Friday. The popular day is one of shopping and town-wide entertainment.
Santa will arrive on the train, Saturday, November 30, around 11:45 a.m. and will visit with children in the downtown park from 12:30 p.m. to about 4:30 p.m.
The annual Christmas parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the lighting of the Great Tree will take place at 7 p.m.
There will be various entertainers throughout the day November 29 and 30.
Light Up Blue Ridge is a stand alone 501(c)3 nonprofit and 100 percent organized by a group of local citizens for the benefit of the community.
Donations are welcome to help cover the costs of the event. The charitable organization is now on AmazonSmile and is eligible for donations. When shopping through AmazonSmile, the online super store will donate .5 percent of the purchase price of eligible products to Light Up Blue Ridge.
