Cash Environmental Resources is offering Fannin County residents a glass recycling option at their Sugar Creek Convenience Center.
“I’m not sure if glass is accepted in your county recycling, but it will be accepted at Sugar Creek transfer station,” Cash representative Brandi Townsend said during a Fannin County Board of Commissioners meeting Tuesday, November 12. “We’ll accept all colors. Have them empty and clean.”
Post Two Commissioner Glenn Patterson said, “I think that’s a great thing because we’re lacking in that area right now.”
The facility is located at 79 Jeffs Way in Blue Ridge.
The board discussed their 2020 budget timeline during the meeting and agreed to meet for a public hearing Tuesday, November 26, at 4 p.m. to discuss the budget. Chairman Stan Helton said the board could have the budget on the agenda at their regularly scheduled meeting at 5:15 p.m. that night.
In other action, the county voted to close the old SPLOST accounts for Capital Improvements and Public Works and put the remaining money in their current respective accounts. There is currently around $80 in the combined old accounts that will be transferred, according to Helton.
Teresa Bidez was appointed to the Fannin County Development Authority Board for a three-year term.
“We’re glad Ms. Bidez is willing to step up and certainly she’s a big contributor to our county,” Helton said.
