Numerous people reported feeling the ground shake in and around Fannin County at approximately 2:15 p.m., Monday, January 20.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed there was a 3.8 earthquake outside of Knoxville, about one mile from Fincastle, Tennessee.
The earthquake happened about 20 miles below the surface of the earth, according to the USGS.
