The Fannin County Board of Education selected a calendar for the 2020-2021 school year during their meeting Thursday, February 13.
The selected calendar includes a start day for students of Friday, August 7 and a graduation date of Friday, May 21. Thanksgiving Break will be November 23-27, Christmas Break will be December 23-January 6, and Spring Break will be April 5-9.
It features two, 90-day semesters and 10 Professional Learning Days for teachers.
The calendar also includes the following:
• August 3-6 - Professional Learning Days;
• September 7 - Holiday;
• October 19 - Holiday;
• October 20 - Professional Learning Day;
• January 4-5 - Professional Learning Days;
• January 18 - Holiday;
• February 15 - Holiday;
• April 2 - Holiday; and,
• May 24-26 - Professional Learning Days.
The board also voted to set the dates, times and locations for the 2019-2020 Fannin County High School Prom and Graduation Ceremony.
Prom will be held Saturday, April 4 at INOLA in Blue Ridge from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Graduation will be held Friday, May 22 in the FCHS football stadium at 8 p.m. If inclement weather occurs, the ceremony will be held in the new gym.
