Have an extra dog house lying around the yard?
Fannin County Animal Control is looking for folks who want to donate dog houses they no longer use, so they can give them to families in need.
When people lose a pet, the pet’s belongings – items like collars, leashes, bowls and dog houses – are often placed in closets or left outside. However, another dog and another family may be able to use the items, in this case, namely dog houses.
Folks may bring the dog houses to Animal Control or, if needed, officers will pick up the dog house. Manager John Drullinger said, “We’ll be happy to pick it up. Just let us know.”
Officers will then give the dog house to a family who needs shelter for their pet.
