Mr. Glen Callihan, age 89, of Blue Ridge, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at his home.

Mr. Callihan was born April 26, 1932, in Blue Ridge, to the late Davis and Izora Dillbeck Callihan. He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church, where he was a song leader and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Glen was an Army Veteran serving in combat during the Korean War. He enjoyed going to revivals and singings and liked operating heavy equipment, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. Glen was preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis, Gene and Paul Frank Callihan; sisters, Pauline Callihan, Sue Jones, Shirley Jones; and wife, Grace Collis Callihan.

He is survived by his sons, Bob (Sherry Henderson) Callihan and Ricky Wayne (Starr) Callihan, both of Blue Ridge; daughter, Brenda (Jessie) Millsaps, of Blue Ridge; sister, Maggie Workman; grandchildren, Heather Watkins, Jessica (Michelle) Cox, Candice (Scott) Ray, Jacob (Erica Davis) Callihan, Dakota (Brittany) Christmas and Cherish Christmas; special grandchild, Michael Earley; great-grandchildren, Gracie Watkins, Caroline Ray, Rylin Christmas, Dillon Christmas, William Callihan and Emmalyn Callihan; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Banks, Reverend John Newton and Reverend Robbie Chastain officiating. Music was provided by Nancy Watkins, Joel Collis, Michael Earley and Betty Hawkins.

Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Jake Callihan, Scott Ray, Ed Hawkins, Brad Hawkins, Tim Phillips and Mike Phillips.

The family received friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Friday, June 25, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
