Time to “Light Up” for the holiday season

Blue Ridge, McCaysville plans announced

Light Up Blue Ridge returns will a full lineup of activities planned Saturday, November 25.

Billed as “A day of Christmas cheer” by organizers, it will include live entertainment, food vendors, Santa, a parade and the lighting of the Great Tree.

Entertainment and food vendors get the day started, then Santa arrives to have pictures made with children from noon until 4:15 in the gazebo in the downtown park.

The annual parade will get started at 5:30 from the corner of East Main and Church streets, make its way down East Main to Mountain, then back down West Main.

The Great Tree lighting will take place at 7 p.m.

The day before, Friday, November 24, live entertainment and food vendors will fill the streets.

The Gingerbread Village will be on display at The Art Center on West Main Street from noon, November 22, through 4 p.m. December 17.
