Terry Flowers has been named one of the top 20 Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) teachers in Georgia. He was told of the honor by Fannin County High School (FCHS) Principal Dr. Scott Ramsey and other administrators Friday, October 4.
Flowers, a welding teacher at FCHS, will now be a member of CTAE’s 2024-’25 Leadership, Exploration and Development (LEAD) class. He was one of more than 75 applicants for the honor.
“I am so proud of Terry for being selected to this very prestigious group,” Dr. Lucas Roof, CTAE director for the school system, said.
Ramsey echoed Roof’s words, saying, “Terry is an asset to our school and our students. We are excited for him and this opportunity.”
Throughout the year, Flowers will participate in sessions that are designed to help participants develop valuable skills and knowledge in areas including team building, leadership, priority management, business engagement, legislative advocacy and policy, communication, instruction and economic development.
Selections for the class were made based on the scoring of applications, resumes, essay questions and recommendations. Applicants were rated on motivation, interest in CTAE leadership, willingness to learn from others and accept guidance, independence, ability to work effectively as a team member, ability to apply learned concepts to new situations, and being self-directed.
