Spelling Bee winners announced

Fannin County Middle School student Annelise Hughes ended the Fannin County School System District Spelling Bee as the winner after spelling the winning word, “Etruscan,” correctly Thursday, January 14. She will now move on to the region level. She is joined by Principal Keith Nuckolls.

East Fannin Elementary School student Addelyn Barnes made it through several rounds of the Fannin County School System District Spelling Bee and was the first student to become a finalist before becoming the first runner-up Thursday, January 14. She is shown with Principal Matt Price.

West Fannin Elementary School student Abby Pickard placed third in the Fannin County School System District Spelling Bee where she competed against students from East Fannin Elementary, Blue Ridge Elementary and Fannin County Middle School Thursday, January 14.
