Fannin County Chamber of Commerce President Jan Hackett has encouraged community members to continue supporting small businesses in Fannin County during the COVID-19 crisis.
“To say that we are all in this together has never been more real and urgent,” Hackett said. “Please stay home. Help our small businesses and their employees by shopping online, ordering gift certificates and picking up carry out from local restaurants.”
A list of participating restaurants, shops and businesses that are offering take out, gift certificates and online shopping is available on the chamber’s website at www.blueridgemountains.com
“March, April and May are traditionally slow months for visitors, with the exception of spring break in March and early April,” Hackett said. “Hopefully by following CDC, Georgia and local guidelines, we can stop COVID-19 in its tracks in time for a busy and successful summer season.”
Hackett believes residents and businesses in Fannin County will recover economically stating, “We are in the best place anywhere to recover just like we did after the 2008 recession. After this is over people will head to the beautiful mountains to celebrate! Let’s use this time to prepare to be the best we can be when that happens.”
Residents and small businesses who have been impacted by COVID-19 can find information regarding resources, job opportunities and more on the Fannin County Development Authority’s website at www.fannindevelopment.com.
