Shamblins thankful as enough raised for Elizabeth

Steve and Nikki Shamblin are saying a big “thank you” this week as enough funds have been raised to adopt Elizabeth out of Colombia, South America.

Nikki wrote in a recent email, “Steve and I would like to thank the Fannin community for your prayers and support in the adoption of our daughter Elizabeth! This community has been such a blessing to us and instrumental in helping us reach our goal.”

The Shamblins hope to bring Elizabeth home as soon as possible.

A front page story appeared in the Wednesday, December 25, 2019, issue of The News Observer. That story told how the Shamblins were working to adopt 14-year-old Elizabeth who was living in an orphanage.

“When are you going to come get me,” Elizabeth had asked during a recent Skype conversation. That desire for daughter and family began after the Shamblins had hosted Elizabeth and her sister, Cindy, two years earlier at Christmas through Nightlight Christian Adoptions.

The mountain the family faced in December, raising the needed funds, has been moved. “Thank you so very much,” Nikki wrote.
