A $700 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who broke into Fannin County Fire Station #6 and stole over $1,000 worth of equipment last week.
Fannin County Fire Chief Larry Thomas said, “It’s disappointing that anyone would steal tools we use to save lives.”
Among the items stolen were a reciprocating saw and a rescue jump bag.
The saw, Thomas said, was recently used to help cut a victim out of a wrecked car.
The rescue jump bag contained a full assortment of first aid supplies.
Also taken were a 100-foot extension cord, a DeWalt 3,400 psi pressure washer and a Stihl chainsaw.
The items were stolen sometime between Monday and Wednesday, May 18 and 20.
Fire Station #6 is located in the Higdon area off Highway 2.
