Anna Minear, James Hyatt, and Sydney Chancey each walked away from Fannin County High School with a scholarship awarded by the Fannin County Republican Party. At their Monday, June 10, meeting, members of the party listened as Minear and Hyatt as they each read their essays.
They wrote on the topic of congressional term limits. Each graduate explained the pros and cons of having congressional term limits in their essays as well as formed their own opinions on the matter. The graduates were considered for the scholarships based on these essays and Minear, Hyatt, and Chancey came out on top.
A spokesman for the party said the Republicans were very proud of these young women and young man for their hard work in school as well as their intelligence on our government.
Hosting the event was Frank Wood who bragged about how informed each graduate was on the subject matter and wished them well in all their future endeavors.
