Rec Center activities in full swing

    The Fannin County Recreation Center is currently open and keeping regular hours, however, the facility will be closed on Wednesdays for cleaning until 3 p.m. 

    Fannin County Recreation Department Director Eddie O’Neal said, “We will have hand sanitizing stations and encourage people to wear masks. We will be closed on Wednesdays to make the facility as clean as possible.”

    Spring sports sign-ups are continuing through Saturday, February 6. Sports include baseball, softball, volleyball and wrestling.

    The Rec Department will also host the Mountain Athletic Conference 10U girls and boys basketball tournaments February 8,9, and 11.

    Also scheduled for the center are the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) District 5, 10U girls and boys basketball tournament. Games will take place February 19 through 20.

    The Fannin County Recreation Department is also looking at starting a girls flag football league in the fall to go along with co-ed football. Anyone interested should contact the rec department at 706-946-1130.
