Joshua Glen White was taken into custody by Fannin County deputies barely more than an hour after he was accused of raping a woman in Fannin County Friday afternoon, January 26.
The report of the attack was received by the E911 Center shortly after 5 p.m.
According to White’s booking report, he was arrested by Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Jesse Godsey at 6:36 p.m.
Investigations Captain Justin Turner said a Blue Ridge police officer was dispatched to the BP gas station on West First Street to the report of a disturbance. Sheriff’s deputies had been investigating the attack and had already started looking for White, 26, of 154 Walnut Valley Drive, Epworth, at that time.
When it was determined White was the suspect at the gas station, deputies also responded.
Sheriff’s Office Investigator Erin Sehl swore out a warrant against White charging him with Felony, Rape.
His booking report shows he has also been charged with Violation of Accountability Court.
Turner said more charges are expected.
White was also charged by Blue Ridge Police Officer Peter Tinkhan with Felony, Terroristic Threats and Acts, and three misdemeanors, DUI/Alcohol, Disorderly Conduct, and No Material Obstruct Driver’s Vision in regard to windshield violation.
Fannin County Chief Magistrate Judge Brian Jones said White was denied bond during an initial appearance hearing because Magistrate Court does not have jurisdiction over the rape charge.
Jones said he was also out on bond in connection with his Accountability Court sentence.
