The Georgia Department of Public Health’s long-term care facility report lists PruittHealth - Blue Ridge as having had 34 of it’s 70 residents and 26 staff members test positive for COVID-19, as well as one virus related death of a resident as of Thursday, September 10.
The facility currently has 13 patients and 17 staff members who are positive for COVID-19.
At this time, the facility is under a red alert code, which means visitors and nonessential personnel are prohibited from entering the location.
“PruittHealth - Blue Ridge has been strictly following enhanced infection control protocols,” Amanda Henning with the Communications Department at PruittHealth said. “These include increasing cleaning frequency, postponing communal activities, ceasing visitation, as well as screening staff and patients daily.
"We actively monitor staffing levels and appropriate supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE), and have installed an air scrubber system. We also have built isolation units to work to contain the virus.”
Henning explained that PruittHealth follows guidance from public health officials, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The facility is located at 99 Ouida Street in Blue Ridge.
