Pre-Kindergarten registration for the upcoming school year is currently underway and will be open through Friday, May 8.
Children who are four years old on or before September 1, 2020 will be eligible for enrollment in Pre-K for the 2020-2021 school year.
Due to the COVID-19 school closure, Pre-K registration for Fall 2020 will be conducted either using the online enrollment form or by calling the elementary school in the child’s attendance zone.
The custodial parent/guardian of the child is the only person authorized to complete the enrollment process. A lottery drawing for the Pre-K spots will be conducted the week of May 11.
Due to the current COVID-19 guidelines the drawing will be conducted by an administrator from each school and supervised by the Director of Student Services.
Parents will be notified regarding their Pre-K enrollment status and those not chosen in the lottery will be placed on a waiting list.
The 911 address of the child’s residence must be used when enrolling, and the child must be enrolled in the district in which they reside.
Not enrolling in the appropriate district could result in not being eligible for the lottery or maintaining the Pre-K position for the student.
Questions regarding which district a child is zoned to attend should be directed to the transportation department by phone at 706-632-7802 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
In order to complete the registration process the following documentation will be needed:
1. Application/Enrollment Form;
2. An official document showing proof of birth date (example: birth certificate);
3. Two forms of proof of legal residency (example: utility bill, mortgage/utility bill, etc.);
4. Child’s Social Security Card;
5. Signed PreK Attendance Policy;
6. A valid Georgia certificate of immunization (GA Form #3231); and
7. Evidence of Vision, Hearing, and Nutrition Screening (GA Form #3300-Rev. 2013).
It is mandatory that documents 1 through 5 on this list be submitted prior to the first day of school this fall.
The enrollment link is located on the Fannin County School System website at fannin.k12.ga.us. Registration office hours will be Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Questions can be directed to the elementary schools.
