Over 13,000 Fannin County votes were cast in the January 5, 2021 General Election Runoff that ultimately saw Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff and Republican Lauren Bubba McDonald, Jr. as the night’s victors, each by a razor-thin margin.
Warnock received 2,435 votes in Fannin County to Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler’s 10,986. Across the state of Georgia, Warnock received 50.99% of the vote with 2,281,671 votes, while Loeffler received 2,192,776. Loeffler conceded the race to Warnock Thursday, January 7.
Ossoff received 2,377 votes in Fannin County, while Republican Senator David Perdue received the majority with 11,052 votes. Statewide, Ossoff slightly outperformed Perdue with 2,262,523 votes to Perdue’s 2,211,865. Perdue conceded the race to Warnock Friday, January 8.
Public Service Commissioner for District 4, McDonald, will keep his seat as he received more votes statewide than Democrat Daniel Blackman. McDonald received 2,231,655 to Blackman’s 2,194,559. In Fannin County, McDonald received 10,977, while Blackman received 2,265.
