Toys for Tots of Fannin County received a financial boost recently when the Nam Knights Motorcycle Club presented a check for $1,900.
Dale Greene, co-coordinator for Toys for Tots, and Jeff Young, owner of Grumpy Old Men Brewing, accepted the check from several club members.
The money was raised during a Nam Knights fundraising ride through Fannin County.
Greene said, “100 percent of the funds will go directly to Toys for Tots to benefit children in Fannin County. We are very grateful to the group of combat veterans for their support.”
The donation comes as Marine Corps League Detachment 1438, Lake Blue Ridge, is in full swing of its annual Toys for Tots of Fannin County sponsorship.
Anyone seeking help can apply now at either Fannin County Family Connection or on-line at www.ToysforTots.org.
When applying on-line, the applicant will need to select Georgia, and then select Fannin County.
The application period closes December 15. Toys will be available for pickup either December 20 or 21 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. All pickups will be at Family Connection.
Sixty donation boxes are being placed throughout Fannin County this week. Greene said that nearly every location that has a toy donation box will also have a cash collection jar.
Also, anyone wanting to donate can also mail a check to: Fannin County Toys for Tots, P.O. 794, Blue Ridge, Georgia, 30513. Greene stressed that 100 percent of the donations that are received, just like those from the Nam Knights, go directly to Toys for Tots.
