More than 3,000 have voted in Fannin

Early voting continues through Dec. 31

The January 5, 2021, General Election Runoff has already seen thousands of Fannin County ballots cast following the start of early voting Monday, December 14.

According to Election Supervisor Mary Ann Conner, 2,295 early votes have been cast and close to 1,000 absentee ballots had been received by the Election Office at the end of the day Friday, December 18.

Those who still plan to vote early can do so in the Election Office on the third floor of the Fannin County Courthouse either today, Wednesday, December 23, or December 28 through December 31.

The Election Office will be open on these dates from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The runoff features three races: two for United States Senate seats in Georgia and one for Public Service Commission District 4.

Those wishing to vote by absentee ballot must request one by January 1. Ballots can be requested online at https://ballotrequest.sos.ga.gov using a Georgia Driver’s License or state ID. Ballots can be tracked online at www.Georgia.ballottrax.net.

Voters can also check the status of their absentee ballot through their My Voter Profile on the Georgia Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ga.gov, or call the Election Office at 706-632-7740.

Absentee ballots can be mailed or dropped off in the ballot box in front of the Fannin County Courthouse. The ballots must arrive by 7 p.m. January 5 in order to be counted.

All precincts will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
