McCaysville amends SPLOST budget

The  McCaysville City Council voted, Thursday, May 28, to amend their 2019-2020 SPLOST budget to allow Police Chief Michael Earley to purchase computer equipment for the police department.

“This amendment shows reallocation only and not an increase in total outlay,” council member Sue Beavers said. “A vehicle will not be purchased and computer equipment will be purchased and replaced.”

The supplies expenditures line item of the budget was updated to reflect $18,716.07, and $698 was added under Small Equipment. The $40,000 originally budgeted for vehicles was taken out, and $35,585.93 was added as Capital Outlay.

As this amendment was a reallocation and not an increase or decrease, the budget still reflects a total projected expenditure of $55,000.
