Martha Williams honored for nutrition work

Martha Williams was recognized at the Fannin County School Board meeting Thursday, June 13, for her hard work and dedication to ensuring Fannin County School System students are fed at no cost to them.

Williams as well as a couple of others spent countless hours working on the application for the Community Eligibility Provision which makes breakfast and lunch completely free for students.

Children at all five schools in Fannin County now no longer have to worry about lunch money or free and reduced meal applications. Each student can have their basic needs met and focus on building their education because of the hard work done by Williams and her team.

The school board honored Williams by presenting her with an owl as well as two more for her right hands.
