Fannin County Commission Chairman Jamie Hensley said last week he is excited to see “real progress” in efforts to construct a new Fannin County Public Library.
His words came on the heels of the announcement by the board of commissioners, local and Mountain Regional library boards, TSW Design and Albion Construction that the design phase of the project is complete.
The library will be a one story, 10,800 square foot building to be located on East First Street below Fannin County High School.
Hensley also said he appreciated the efforts of Albion Construction to secure local subcontractors for the project. Interested parties should email Bob Kovacs, Albion’s director of preconstruction, at bkovacs@albiongc.com to request to be added to the bidders list.
Scopes of work included in the project include sitework, concrete, masonry, wood framing, membrane roofing, doors and windows, metal siding, interior finishes, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and low voltage systems.
Bids will be due no later than noon, November 26 and construction is expected to begin in February 2025.
