Howie Bruce
A former Fannin County commission chairman has again run afoul of law enforcement.
Howell “Howie” Porter Bruce, 50, of 55 Shady Grove Lane in Blue Ridge was arrested Tuesday morning, May 26, and charged with four felonies and one misdemeanor. All are drug related.
According to a report filed by Sergeant Jacob Pless of the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office, he was dispatched to 101 Riverstone Vista in Blue Ridge shortly before 8 a.m. to a report of a man passed out in a truck. The caller told the dispatch center the man had been there since 6 a.m.
There, Pless found Bruce apparently sleeping in a black truck.
A search of Bruce and the vehicle turned up a variety of suspected drugs and drug related objects.
Warrants taken by Pless charge Bruce with:
•Felony, possession of heroin;
•Felony, possession of methamphetamine;
•Two counts, Felony, possession of a Schedule IV drug; and,
•Misdemeanor, possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
Bruce was previously arrested October 7, 2019, and charged with two felonies; possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime.
