Preparations continue for second annual soap box derby

    Preparations continued for this year's second annual Blue Ridge Soap Box Derby as organizers visited East Fannin Elementary for a car building event.

    Mike Sullivan said he and  Brian Higgins visited Christie Holtman's class last week to build a derby car.

    This year's event will take place Saturday, April 25, starting at 9 a.m. in the parking lot at Fannin County Middle School.

    Sponsors are still needed for the event and entrants are invited to join any of the four race categories: ages 7 - 11, 12 - 17, 18 and over, and the corporate race with a driver of any age 7 or over.
