A February 18, 2020, incident has led to the arrest of a Farner, Tennessee, man on a charge of attempted murder in the first degree.
Eddie Dale Rice, 56, of Waller Road, was booked into the Polk County Adult Detention Center Friday, February 28. He was still jailed Monday morning, March 9.
Captain Keith Barker of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said Rice tried to kill Brendan Allen with a machete. The alleged attack occurred at Rice’s 278 Waller Road residence.
Allen was taken to Fannin Regional Hospital where he was treated and released.
Barker said the charge against Rice came after the attack was reported to the sheriff’s office and an investigation followed. That investigation included interviewing several witnesses.
