The Fannin County Board of Commissioners have officially passed the ordinance that will raise the county’s Lodging Tax, also known as Hotel/Motel Tax, from 5% to 6%.
Post Two Commissioner Glenn Patterson said, “I think it’ll be good for the county.”
The vote came during the board’s regular meeting, Tuesday, November 10, following a second public hearing for the ordinance where no one from the public chose to speak on the matter. The first public hearing occurred Tuesday, October 27, and no one from the public spoke at that time either.
The increase will go into effect January 1, 2021.
