Fannin County has seen an additional 133 cases of COVID-19 over the last two weeks as of Monday, February 8.
This brings the county’s total up to 1,857 positive cases since the pandemic began. Forty-eight of those people who had contracted the virus have died, nine probable deaths have been reported and 153 individuals have been hospitalized.
In comparison, last week the county had seen 1,811 positive cases total as of Monday, February 1. Forty-five of those people who had contracted the virus had died, eight probable deaths had been reported and 148 had been hospitalized.
Of the Fannin County School System’s 2,899 students, less than 10 have a current COVID-19 status, 16 are quarantined due to exposure at school and 44 are quarantined due to non-school exposure. There are currently 357 students enrolled in online learning that do not attend in-person classes.
Of the 472 local school system employees, less than 10 have a current COVID-19 status, none are quarantined due to an exposure at school or a non-school exposure.
The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) reported that Georgia has seen 775,466 confirmed cases, 13,361 virus related deaths, 1,769 probable deaths, 51,928 hospitalizations and 8,601 ICU admissions. Of these, 2,492 confirmed cases, 35 deaths and 86 hospitalizations were reported February 8.
In comparison, last week the state had seen 752,448 confirmed cases and 12,613 virus related deaths.
As of Monday, there were 2,150 providers across the state enrolled to administer COVID-19 vaccines, and 1,158,884 vaccines had been administered in Georgia. DPH reported that 633,750 of the 653,250 allocated Pfizer vaccines and all of the 919,700 allocated Moderna vaccines had been shipped.
According to the Georgia Geospatial Information Office, the United States has seen 27,035,256 confirmed cases and 464,056 deaths.
